Arson
Just a few days ago, a man in New Square was nearly killed by people close to the Skverer Rebbe for sins like davening in a new shul. The story is horrendous, and I recommend you check it out. I am hoping the story receives mass media coverage. I wonder if there will be an outcry from the Orthodox community. I strongly suspect there will not be, and while the Orthodox media is more than happy to hound closet atheists and denounce same-sex marriage, they're extremely reluctant to criticize so-called leaders of their community.

As of this moment, I am the only rabbi I know of that has criticized this act and the milieu from which it sprung.
ReplyDeleteA fellow rabbi has chastised me for speaking lashon hara.
Disgraceful.

ReplyDeleteAre you referring to Chanan Baer?
Lol.
ReplyDeleteNo. A shul rabbi quite a few years my senior. He called me on the phone and obliquely criticized me on Facebook.
